This is an ongoing collection of posters that were made in a fast pace manner.
My passion of photography and design meets here in a mish-mash of both. I love dissecting photos and taking interesting layers of color or value, and inserting them into a completely different context.
My work is multi-layered and, when possible, I add my own lettering.
The publication tells a story about my grandmother and her journey as a postal worker in the Latvian country-side in the 90’s.
The publication is separated in two parts. In the first one I get to know the unique nature of the work and the social worker aspect of it. In the second part I go on her old daily route and capture what she saw back then.
Design-wise I was inspired by the oddities of the postal service world. Looking through the publication you can see parallels with the big numbers on postmarks, Latvian Postal service colors and shameless stamps.
